Cape Town is the 2014 World Design Capital (WDC) and this year has been filled with some impressive talent and events, one of which is Open Design Cape Town happening now! The OPEN DESIGN Cape Town festival is an annual event to ‘raise awareness and appreciation’ for design. The theme this year is Design for Change showcasing South Africa’s evolution and milestones.
THE GAMING PLAYROOM
For the next 11 days City Hall is hosting the Festival at and around Cape Town and Make Games South Africa has gotten involved. Make Games has set up a “Playroom” on the first floor packed with some pretty cool games such as, Tap the Coin made by us, BroForce, Desktop Dungeons, games played at Super Friendship Arcade and many more local favourites designed by local talent.
Swing by City Hall during your lunch break or after work and get stuck into your favourite games. While you are waiting your turn to play Tap the Coin you will also find inspiring art exhibitions, educational talks and of course design motivation spread across the three beautiful floors of City Hall. The OPEN DESIGN Cape Town festival is open 13- 23 August from 10:00-17:00 with evening events taking place throughout the festival. Check out the programme to avoid missing out.
